Meet Melissa

Founder of Catalytic Icon — a modern House of Discernment for women refining how they live, lead, build, adorn, and become.

About Catalytic Icon

Catalytic Icon is a modern philosophy and lifestyle house built around one central belief: discernment changes everything.

It changes how a woman spends her time.
It changes what she allows into her life.
It changes how she builds, leads, dresses, gathers, rests, and becomes.

What began as a body of work around clarity, identity, leadership, and intentional pauses has evolved into a House with three chambers: Clarify, Adorn, and Embody.

Through private advisory, intimate gatherings, editorial reflection, wearable heirlooms, and immersive retreats, Catalytic Icon helps high-performing women move from complexity into clarity — and from outward achievement into a more self-possessed way of living.

Hello, I’m Melissa.

I work with high-performing women who have already built something meaningful — a company, a career, a body of work, a reputation, a life.

But at some point, success begins asking for refinement.

Not more effort.
Not more noise.
Not another strategy layered onto an already full life.

Something quieter. More precise. More honest.

My work begins there.

I help women discern what belongs in their next chapter — and what no longer does. Through advisory, retreats, salons, writing, and objects of adornment, I create experiences that help women clarify their inner architecture, express their identity with intention, and embody the life they are no longer willing to postpone.

A Hard Truth

Complexity is often disguised as ambition.

A full calendar can look like success.
Constant access can look like importance.
Over-functioning can look like devotion.
Achievement can become a beautiful form of avoidance.

But clutter and complexity do not create clarity. They create procrastination, paralysis, and a life built around obligations that may no longer belong.

This is why I believe silence has become a luxury good.

Not silence as escape.
Silence as strategy.
Silence as discernment.
Silence as the place where a woman can hear herself again.

This is the foundation of Turn Up the Silence™ — the philosophy behind my work and the threshold into the House.

How I Serve

My work moves through three chambers.

Clarify
The interior work. Through private advisory, catalytic conversations, and intellectual salons, I help women examine the noise, recalibrate their identity, and make cleaner decisions from a place of self-trust.

Adorn
The exterior expression. Through Bow & Brooch, I explore beauty, provenance, and adornment as a form of identity made visible — a way for women to choose what belongs on the body, in the room, and in the story they are telling.

Embody
The integration. Through Rejuvenate & Rise Retreats, I create intimate, restorative environments where women can step away from performance and into the next evolution of life, wealth, leadership, and presence.

Together, these chambers form the House: a place for women who are no longer interested in simply becoming more — but becoming more themselves.

About Me
I am a founder, advisor, operator, and lifelong student of what helps women become more fully themselves.

Before creating Catalytic Icon, I spent nearly two decades building and scaling B2B SaaS companies — work that sharpened my eye for systems, efficiency, growth, and the hidden complexity that keeps high-performing people trapped inside the very success they created.

But my work has always lived at the intersection of precision and beauty.

I am as interested in operational clarity as I am in a perfectly chosen brooch.
As interested in business models as I am in the ritual of a dinner table.
As interested in revenue and identity as I am in silence, solitude, travel, movement, flowers, and the details that make a life feel unmistakably one’s own.

Catalytic Icon is the expression of that intersection.

It is where strategy meets philosophy.
Where adornment meets identity.
Where retreat becomes recalibration.
Where discernment becomes a way of living.

On a more personal note, I am childless by choice, married to my wonderful husband, Brian, a proud aunt to my nephew, Logan, and dog mom to Ravello and Montrachet.

My life is shaped by travel, fashion, flowers, movement, solitude, beautifully orchestrated details, and the ongoing practice of choosing what belongs.

A Few Things That Shaped the House

Flowers
I am a floral designer and competitor, drawn to composition, restraint, color, negative space, and the quiet drama of what is carefully placed.

Movement
I tap dance, practice ballet, hike, climb, and have rappelled down a skyscraper — reminders that confidence is often built through the body before it is understood by the mind.

Travel
From the Loire Valley to India, Hawaii, Colorado, the Lesser Antilles, Paris, and private island solitude, travel has taught me to notice beauty, rhythm, ritual, and the way place can change a woman’s perspective.

Solitude
My own solitude retreats became part of the origin story of Catalytic Icon. Silence helped me hear what success had made too noisy to notice.

Adornment
Fashion, brooches, heirlooms, and found objects have always been more than decoration to me. They are artifacts of identity, memory, and becoming.

Principles of the House

Discernment Over Default

We do not choose more. We choose what belongs.

Silence as Strategy

The most powerful decisions often arrive when the noise is removed.

Clarity Before Expansion

Growth without clarity only creates more noise.

Impact Over Effort

The goal is not to do everything. The goal is to move what matters.

Beauty as Identity

Adornment, environment, ritual, and rhythm are not superficial. They are signals of who we are becoming.

Integration Over Performance

A woman’s next chapter is not only something she thinks through. It is something she must learn to inhabit.
